2 years...

I know, that seems to be how long it's been since my last post.  No, I did not forget my password-honestly I just didn't have the "blogy vibe" and was feeling meh about it.  But (and I know this is a month overdue) our little man is 2!!  Can you believe it, because we can't!

Weight:  27.8 pounds (52nd percentile)

Height:  35.75 inches (85th percentile)

Nap Time: Little Man continues to take one nap a day. Typically from 1-3pm. He has been known to jump on his bed or get out choose a book and "read" to himself until he's tired enough to fall asleep.  On occasion he'll even get up to put his cowboy boots on and fall asleep.

Night Time:
After a book (or two), prayers and a song our boy will hum (not always quietly) to himself until he falls asleep.

Food:  C still loves any type of fruit (except kiwis) and will happily snarf them all day.  He also adores Jelly Bellies and M&Ms (he eats them first when given trail mix).  He went through a bout of vegetarianism but is now back to being an omnivore ;0) his favorite is hot dogs.  I can't think of a food C won't eat, he'll try anything.

Valentines to his friends
Motor Skills:  Little dude is doing great with walking up and down stairs, so great in fact that he doesn't need help going up or coming down (but it makes mom and dad feel better if he hold our hands).  He likes to climb the stairs and ladder at our local park, even climbing up the slides.  He was given an iPod for his birthday and already knows how to open all his apps, turn it on and swish to other pages.  He still likes to build with his blocks and likes to use the new "catapult" mommy made for him to shoot cotton balls or marshmallows in the air (and at the dogs).

Language & Fun Facts: C is incredibly verbal!  He started to have conversations with us about a month and half ago and has been adding words and phrases like, "daddy home" and "bye Shelby".  He also will ask about certain friends or family members.  He recently began giving unsolicited "thank you's" and kisses.  He is very independent (wonder who he got that from?) and likes to pick out his outfits, though luckily mom and dad can still steer him in the direction of coordination.  He likes to yawn loudly (like his mom) and is a great sharer.

Within the past four months our munchkin has become obsessed an avid train fan.  So much so that he now has a train table (a freebie from our awesome neighbors), two train sets, a pull-along train and train books galore!  He can find a choo choo in any of his books and remember which books have it in them.  He also loves train shows like Chuggington.  But he still watches Olivia (and truth be told, so does mom).

B and me at a formal banquet
Following his birthday we converted C's bed to a toddler bed (ie: the bed now has a partial rail so he can climb in and out on his own).  He's been doing great with it and attempted one escape the first day only to be thwarted by a closed door.  We still go to music class and now MOPS so mommy can get a break and some adult time while C plays with the other "Moppets".

In other news, B and I went to Austin in January for a conference and spent 5 days away from our little guy, who got to spend the week with his nana.  I actually did better than I thought I would (aside from the cold I had) and it sounded like C had a great time, too.  B is still doing his PAA work and got to fly VP Biden to Iraq!  I'm still selling Stella & Dot and am enjoying being the mommy of a toddler.  We've just started doing crafty projects and it's lot's of fun seeing my buddy experience them and other things for the first time.  Until next time (and I promise it won't be as long)!
