The World According to C: vol 2
20) If I don't want my food, I KNOW the doggies will!
19) Why color on paper when it's so much better on the wall?
18) The watering can waters everything, not just plants.
17) Bubbles! More bubbles!
16) Who needs anything else when there's mac-n-cheese?
15) Sliding is so much better than walking.
14) An empty or locked Tupperware drawer is just mean. Tupperware is awwesoooome!
13) I think my middle name must be No.
12) Stories are much better when read upside down and backwards.
11) everything that is furry or fuzzy is a 'doggie'. This includes cats, bears, muppets and Santa Clause.

18 Months...
Weight: 26 pounds (62nd percentile)
Height: 32.5 inches (63rd percentile)
Motor Skills: C really likes LOVES stacking his blocks! He'll even cry if we take his towers apart to clean up for the day. He does a great job stacking and all we have to do is turn the tower a bit and push down some rogue blocks. He also will use the the handrail (albeit a bit tall for him) when going up and down the stairs. He's recently figured out crayons and that they make colorful marks (on more than just paper)! He climbs on everything (even things that are not for climbing).
Language & Fun Facts: Our little guy has added quite a few words to his repertoire: moo, mama, choo choo, rah rah (rocks), papa, buzz (bee), dis (this), hizah (what's that) and a lot of other unintelligible words to those outside the household, but we understand! He also has recently enjoyed looking at various flash cards from shapes and colors to ABCs and presidents.
He has started pointing to things on the TV (we watch Nick Jr. and "host" of the channel is a moose); whenever the moose asks to find a shape or to see if a picture is different from the rest, C will point to the screen! He'll also dance and "sing" with his favorite shows. He has become more aware of his surroundings by pointing or drawing our attention to things outside the car or where we're walking. He loves to wear hats (even daddy's flight cap), especially when he puts them on himself.
C has also begun actively playing with us like peek-a-boo and catch. He has also become an accomplished mimic! He'll do everything we do from sighing when he sits to clasping his hands while waiting; he's even mimicked me when I sneeze. We recently cut his hair to a short, spike cut. He looks a lot like his daddy and several friends have even commented on the fact.
In other news, B has finished ACSC (which is professional military education for Majors)! This means MUCH more free time training for his MARATHON in March! And, I've been canning like a mad woman! So far we've got three different yummies just waiting for us to open them!
Height: 32.5 inches (63rd percentile)
Nap Time: Little Man continues to take one nap a day. Typically from 1-3pm. Though, I think he may have been going through a growth spurt because he was sleeping for a full 3 hours!
Night Time: When he isn't tired and has been put down for the night, in protest he will throw his toys out of his crib leaving all the poor "animals" in a pathetic pile on the floor. He also discovered what a great trampoline his matress is.
Food: Little dude is becoming more picky with his entree choices-he loves broccoli, carrots, grapes, blueberries, strawberries--pretty much anything sweet (uh oh)! He has also become a fan of dipping (ie: chips and salsa) anything on his plate. C has also become quite good at using his utensils and scoops like a pro!

16 MONTHS:
Weight: 25.2 lbs (59th percentile)
Length: 32 inches (74th percentile)
Nap Time: Little Man continues to take 1 nap a day. Typically from 1-3pm.
Night Time: 7:30 is still bedtime following a story and prayers. Bath time is getting more and more fun as C is discovering that various toys (and fingers and hands) fit in other toys or cups. He loves splashing but HATES getting his hair washed. He hasn't caught on yet, that if he keeps his chin up the water won't go in his eyes...oh well, consider it a work in progress
Food: Munchkin eats everything we do and seems to like spicy (like PaPa's guacamole) and sour flavors. He has a good appetite but gets distracted easily by the doggies or other things going on around him so he doesn't eat as much as he used to.

Language & Fun Facts: Speaking of music class our maestro has also picked up on inflection. He doesn't have much of a vocabulary yet (Boss, dada, mama (occasionally), hi, ball, banana, blue and just started saying hat) but he'll say words with different accents points! He has also started using the letter "L"! C is in size 5 diapers, and wears 12-18 month clothes he's tall and thin (hmm wonder who he gets that from). He adores the park and is total boy. His favorite is walking up the slides. We've also recently been attending a play group in our squadron and he seems to really like that, too! He seems to change almost daily and his personality is really beginning to shine.

| "HELP" |
Last week B went on a job interview. To say he was nervous would have been and extreme understatement because as he put it, "I haven't been on an interview since high school." The interview was for a place with the Presidential Advance Agents (PAA). Basically what this group does is handle all the ground activities for AIR FORCE 1! Pretty awesome if you ask me. Anyway we spent the week leading up to the week-long interview by getting B some snazzy duds (for when he would be in civies) and all the info (weaknesses and strengths) about himself we could think of. Sunday came and he left for the Pentagon. After two days of interviews he found out Wednesday afternoon that he was one of 11 selected! I couldn't have been prouder of him and I'm sure he'll have some amazing stories to tell C when he gets older.

I appologise for being remiss in posting new tidbits about our lives...it's been a crazy couple of weeks. So I'll just dive right in.The beginning of April, B was promoted to the rank of Major. We were so proud and in keeping with tradition he "pinned on" while TDY (away from home) but not to fear he still had a ceremony (and pictures) albeit about a month late. The reason B was TDY was that he was at AIS (Advanced Instrument School) and was also a part of an (get ready for another acronym) RIE (basically a group of subject matter experts working to solve issues within the C-17 community).
While B was away, C began a music class. It has been amazing to see him begin to mimic what I or the other parents in the group are doing as well as see him interact with other kiddos. He is such a social butterfly. He has also added a couple new words to his vocab, Mama (yay!) and ball. C also has his own word for balloon and plane, which we understand but I think anyone else would think it was just a sound. :0) We've also begun taking him to a story time at our local library he seems to really like it.![]() |

The World According to C:
1. When in doubt, blow a razzberry.2. If you're gonna sing, sing LOUD!
3. Just because it's called dog food doesn't mean it's just for dogs.
4. Stuffed animals are great listeners.
5. If I can see it and reach it, it's a toy.
6. Sometimes making up your own story is just as fun as the original.
7. No t-shirt, no diaper, no problem!8. Doggies make great pillows.
9. Saying "no" just makes me want to touch electrical cords, turn electronics on and off, try to climb your cookbook rack and open cabinets even more.
10. Honestly, why else are fingers such a good fit in nostrils?
